Mr. Porter has both managed and participated in environmental projects at all levels of development — Phase I and II site assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, treatability studies, cleanup action plans, and remedial designs. During his 8 years in the consulting industry, he has characterized and remediated sites where soil and groundwater were contaminated with a variety of chemicals including solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, metals, pesticides, and wood preservatives. His remedial designs often involve innovative technologies such as soil vapor extraction, air and ozone sparging, in-situ oxidation, and zero-valent iron walls. He also manages monitoring and closure operations for many of the sites he has remediated.
