Mr. Hillman is a technical project manager who develops strategies for successful remedial actions and closures — particularly for sites impacted with chlorinated solvents. Since 1987, he has diagnosed environmental issues, identified potential receptors and their risks, and developed conceptual models that accurately describe site conditions. One reason for Doug’s high success rate in obtaining No Further Action designations is his ability to effectively communicate site conditions and potential solutions during agency negotiations. He has implemented source-control, natural-recovery, and active-treatment methods such as chemical oxidation, soil-vapor extraction, and air sparging. Doug’s holistic, business-based approach considers remediation costs, risk allocation, and cleanup timing.
