BA, Geology (Distinction in Major), Carleton College

Annaliese Eipert is a geologist with a passion for dirt, rocks, and natural hazards. She has managed projects related to geologic hazards, geologic and hydrographic mapping, and coastal and engineering geology. Annaliese’s fieldwork has spanned the coasts of the Pacific Northwest, Chile, Alaska, and the U.S. Gulf, as well as Utah, Italy, and Minnesota. Throughout her academic and professional careers, she has published and reported on fault, landslide, tsunami, lateral spread, hurricane, debris flow, and liquefaction studies. Field experience has included logging trenches, test pits, and drill core; conducting mapping; installing and monitoring inclinometers; conducting electrical resistivity and seismic reflection and refraction studies; and collecting samples for environmental and geotechnical laboratory analyses as well as for 14C and optically stimulated luminescence dating. An experienced rock climber, Annaliese’s strong rope and technical skills prove advantageous in the field for mapping rock slopes and obtaining discontinuity data.
