Case Study: Solvent-Impacted Groundwater RI/FS
 |
Client:
Lewis County
Location:
Lewis County, WA
Contact for environmental projects: Doug Hillman |
Project Background & Challenges
Lewis County is under an Agreed Order to conduct a Remedial
Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) in response to chlorinated solvents
discovered in a water supply well. The County required technical support
to identify the source of the solvents, to acquire remedial action grant
funding, and to implement interim remedies.
Solution
Aspect has managed all phases of this project, which involved
evaluating the extent of off-site groundwater impacts by identifying drinking-water
supply wells in the area. Additional remedial investigation activities
included conducting geophysical and soil gas surveys, and characterizing
the source area using direct-push sampling techniques, groundwater monitoring
wells, and aquifer testing.
