Habitat Restoration Support

Supporting Culvert Replacement to Improve Fish Passage

Contact us for more information.

Aspect provides geologic and geotechnical support to improve fish habitat and riparian environments. We team with biological science and civil/structural engineers to replace culverts, re-align stream channels and floodplains, and reduce sediment and erosion impacts to waterways. Our services include evaluating site geology, hydrogeology, and hydrology; designing geotechnical elements of fish passage projects; and providing permitting assistance and construction oversight.

  • Fish passage structure/culvert replacement
  • Bridge foundation design support
  • Stream erosion and sedimentation mitigation

Selected Habitat RestorationProjects

Thornton Confluence Project, Seattle
Providing geotechnical design for culvert replacement and floodplain restoration project to enhance fish habitat in Seattle's largest watershed.

Sub-Basin 6 Slope Stabilization, Mercer Island
Assessed erosion impacts and supported stabilization design of stream bank and critical areas to reduce erosion and sediment transport to Lake Washington fisheries habitats.

Strawberry Creek Culvert Replacement, Kitsap County
Providing geologic and geotechnical support to Kitsap County, including coordination with multiple public, tribal, and regulatory agencies, for culvert replacement that is fish passage friendly.

Tarboo Creek Culvert Replacement, Quilcene
Provided geotechnical study to support culvert replacement and improve fish passage.
