11/1/2001Arrival of Aspect Consulting Alters Pacific Northwest Landscape Aspect Consulting, LLC, announces a change in the Pacific Northwest landscape with the emergence of an established team as a new, independent identity. Aspect Consulting provides earth science and engineering services that address individual client and project objectives within the framework of the local environmental setting. Expertise within the practice is focused on water resources and groundwater hydrology, contaminant assessment and environmental restoration, and geotechnical and geological engineering. The firm provides an in-depth perspective to problem solving and routinely collaborate with other technical specialists to efficiently tailor project teams to achieve results. Tim Flynn, Aspect’s co-founder, knows first hand how a resource as plentiful as rainfall can actually become an economic barrier to growth in the region. “Water rights in Washington State are a valuable commodity,” Flynn states, “but these rights are increasingly difficult to acquire with the competing interests at stake.” Aspect has found a niche in balancing the demands of growing population centers and industry with the environmental protection mandated by regulations such as the Endangered Species Act. According to Flynn, “Goldendale is a good example. Both the City and a proposed industrial project critical to the local economy stalled because they lacked adequate water rights.” The solution developed by Aspect Consulting involved detailed understanding of the groundwater flow systems, the ability to identify underutilized water rights, and an ability to work through the complex legal channels for approval. |
