Aspect Consulting Awarded Hydrogeologic Study of the Lower Dosewallips / Brinnon Area

The WRIA 16 Planning Unit has contracted with Aspect Consulting to serve as prime consultant for a Hydrogeologic Study of the Lower Dosewallips/Brinnon area. Erick Miller, Senior Associate Hydrogeologist with Aspect Consulting will serve as the overall project manager. The WRIA 16 planning unit desires an investigation that will provide information on the geometry of the aquifers, groundwater flow within the various aquifers and the interaction of groundwater and surface water in order to understand the impacts future growth in the area may have on the Dosewallips River. Surface water – groundwater interaction is being evaluated through the use of mini-piezometers, continuous temperature loggers, and naturally occurring major ions and isotopes. Aquifers characterization includes compilation of existing hydrogeologic data, locating wells, conducting hydrogeologic stratigraphic analysis, long-term groundwater level monitoring, extensive groundwater elevation mapping and development of GIS coverages.
