Aspect Promotes Two

Aspect promoted environmental engineer Eric Marhofer to Project Environmental Engineer and hydrogeologist Dave Rugh to Senior Staff Hydrogeologist.

Since coming on board in late 2007, Eric has been involved with both the environmental and water resource service areas at Aspect. On the environmental side, Eric has been instrumental in the design, construction, and operation of a number of remedial actions for soil and groundwater including a combined soil vapor extraction and air sparging system in the Georgetown neighborhood as well as an infiltration trench for the disposal of treated groundwater for a home heating oil site on the east side. Eric's current efforts as part of the water resources group include assisting the Port of Seattle with NPDES permit compliance, primarily through the development of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans for their piers and terminals.

Dave Rugh's experience in groundwater modeling, geophysical modeling, geographic information systems, and aqueous geochemistry provides him the technical background to approach a variety of water resource and environmental projects since joining Aspect in early 2007. On the Sound Transit University Link Light Rail project Dave has maintained a large network of pressure transducers, conducted gas monitoring using passive diffusion samplers and completed hydrogeologic field tests and reporting of slug tests and a multi day aquifer test. Dave has provided oversight of excavation and removal of over 700 tons of DNT and metals impacted soils for remediation of the former Pacific Powder site in Thurston County for the Port of Tacoma, where he has also conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring and updated the draft remedial investigation with additional soil removal work and groundwater sampling.
