Neither snow, nor rain...

US Postal Service mail carriers aren't the only ones working regardless of the weather. Through the winter snowstorms of '08, Aspect staff were on the job, in the field and braving the elements. At the December staff meeting, several staff were recognized for their outstanding efforts in the snow:

Joe Lubischer, water resources engineer in the Bainbridge office, chained up the Aspect field truck and made it through the snow to the Duvall landfill to troubleshoot and reestablish our client's connection with a meteorological datalogger.

Dave Rugh hit the slopes for an early morning run in the fresh snow at Alpental and still made it to work in the Seattle office later that morning.

Amy Tice and Eric Marhofer braved six consecutive days in the snow and freezing temperatures to conduct environmental sampling at a Georgetown site near the Duwamish.

In honor of their heroic efforts to complete sampling before the year was out, Amy and Eric were regaled with a special version of The Night Before Christmas, as read by Aspect's resident thespian (and remediation engineer) Dave Heffner. The pair were also rewarded with pints of whisky and plush trooper hats with ear flaps that would be the envy of any postal carrier.
