June 19, 2010Spring Golf Classic On a cool June day, Aspect staff hit the links at the White Horse Golf Course in Kingston. The course, named one of the country’s best new courses by Golf Digest, more than lived up to its billing for the four teams playing in the scramble format. Teams and players competed for prizes and were also witness to a bit of history as Aspect hydrogeologist Erick Miller hit his first ever hole in one.
The shot -- made with a 3-Wood at the 177-yard Par 3 13th -- was greeted by much celebration and hoopla. In true engineering fashion, Erick calculated the odds for getting a hole in one from that distance at around 1 in 150,000. Back at the clubhouse, Aspect staff took part in an awards
ceremony while enjoying well-earned beers. Erick’s achievement,
which he described as a “grand moment,” is immortalized with
a plaque on Aspect’s wall-of-fame.
