Project Background & Challenges

As the City of Goldendale has blossomed, its water supply has declined, resulting in summer shortages. Other stressors on this supply included a new, major energy facility. As a result, the City demanded a high-quality, reliable water supply.

Solution

Aspect played a role in developing new water supplies for Goldendale. We facilitated complex water-rights transfers, oversaw the drilling and testing of supply wells, and helped the City complete source-approval documentation. Addressing sensitive local issues under extreme deadlines, we managed the project to a successful conclusion, creating a substantial water supply for both the City and the energy facility, while maintaining water levels for local agriculture. Our comprehensive groundwater-management program was developed in coordination with City, County, and State agencies, as well as private energy corporations.
